The mission of the International Centrefor Coastal Ecohydrology, as a UNESCO center is to contribute to theimplementation of UNESCO's programs, particularly the InternationalHydrological Program, through the development of scientific knowledgebased on the concept of ecohydrology and the establishment ofeducational strategies and cultural dissemination for the society,which harmonize the sustainable use of aquatic resources with theenhancement of human being, contributing to the improvement of qualityof life of society, with special emphasis on Africa and areas ofMediterranean climate.

Wanting to colaborate with theInternational Center for Coastal Ecohydrology as a UNESCO center, indeveloping projects and joint activities, in the establishment ofnetworks for sharing knowledge and information and joint strategies topromote the Ecohydrology approach to coastal areas, the followingentities themselves with this Mission Statement of the InternationalCentre for Coastal Ecohydrology.
