• ICCE collaborated with the NGO “Almargem” in this meeting in Vila Real de Sto António, and organized a workshop on "River stream scientists”, where demonstrated the importance of macro-invertebrates for assessing the water quality of rivers and streams.

Week for the Children and Environment

31 May to 4 June, 2010

• The ICCE collaborated with the the Municipality of Olhão in activities involving educational games and environmental workshops for all the schools from the 1st cycle and kindergarten, public and private of the Olhão county.

Celebration of International Day of Biodiversity - Educational Games

• The ICCE collaborated in this activity organized by the Municipality of Tavira and  the Association Almargem  to celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity .

European Project Coastwatch

March and May, 2010

• This European project aims to create student awareness about coastal protection and sustainability. ICCE is one of the regional coordinators of the project and responsible for Implementing the campaign in Faro Beach. This project involved 200 students and 30 teachers from various schools in the Municipality of Faro.

Strategies for Phytoremediation in Coastal Ecosystems

• Lecture on  "Strategies for Phytoremediation in Coastal Ecosystems" (26 February 2010) was presented within the project of Eco-Schools, being ICCE a member of the school board. The aim of this lecture was to provide technical support to the students project "Let's clean the port of Faro" and addressed issues related to phytoremediation in coastal environments. Held in the Portuguese Youth Institute, it was attended by 140 students from the 3rd cycle.

Environmental Interpretation of the Riverside Zone of  Faro

Academic year 2009/2010

• "Environmental Interpretation of the Riverside Zone of  Faro" is a continuous project of Environmental Education implemented by ICCE throughout the academic year 2009/2010 with a class of 20 students from the 6th grade  from the School  Joaquim Magalhães.

Workshop on Water Quality and Ecological Status of Aquatic Resources

24 February, 2010

• Was organized by ICCE in Olhão and was attended by 30 students of the School Dr. Alberto Iria. The workshop addressed issues such as the Water Framework Directive, aquatic ecology, ecological functioning of riverine ecosystems, water quality and ecological quality, macro-invertebrates and bio-indicators.
