ScienceEnsure water in sufficient quantity and quality-adjusted to the requirements of ecosystems and the various human uses under increasing pressure and anthropogenic climate change is one of the challenges facing humanity. The fact that over 50% of the world’s population live in coastal areas makes them particularly vulnerable to these threats. Ecohydrology for sustainability is a priority of Hydrological Program of UNESCO. The International Centre for Coastal Ecohydrology of UNESCO will aim at supporting member states of UNESCO in implementing solutions based on ecohydrology to meet the challenges of ecological sustainability, economic and social development. The ICCE was invited to conduct studies in collaboration with various entities related to water management: |
